Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about going solar with Standfree Solar Systems.
The cost depends on your energy needs, the size of the system, and the components selected. A small residential backup system costs far less than a full off-grid or industrial installation. We provide a free site assessment and a detailed written quotation so you know exactly what you are paying for before any work begins.
Most residential installations are completed within one to three days after delivery of materials. Larger commercial and industrial projects take longer depending on scope, roof access, and electrical work required. We agree on a clear timeline with you before starting.
It depends on the system you choose. A full off-grid system can take you completely off the national grid, while a hybrid system dramatically reduces your bill while keeping grid power as a backup. During your consultation we will show you the realistic savings for your specific usage.
With a hybrid or off-grid system fitted with battery storage, your home or business continues running normally during an outage. The switchover is automatic, so you will barely notice the grid has gone down.
Yes. Panels still generate power on overcast days, though output is reduced. This is exactly why we size systems with battery storage and realistic sun-hour data for Ghana, so you have dependable power year round.
Quality solar panels typically last 25 years or more and come with performance warranties. Lithium batteries generally last 10 to 15 years depending on usage, while inverters usually run 8 to 12 years. We only supply products from trusted manufacturers.
Solar systems need very little maintenance. Periodic panel cleaning to remove dust and harmattan build-up, plus routine inspection of wiring, inverter and battery health, is usually enough. We offer scheduled maintenance plans and after-sales support for all our installations.

Most roofs in Ghana can support a solar array. During our free site assessment we inspect the roof structure, orientation, available space, and shading to confirm suitability. Where a roof is unsuitable, we can design a ground-mounted or carport system instead.
